About Our Founder

Craig’s work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, historical interpretation, and the disciplined stewardship of information. Over the course of his career, he has built, acquired, led, and helped transform businesses while developing expertise in photography, photo restoration, records management, archiving, enterprise content management, as well as advanced imaging technologies. That combination shapes how he approaches history: as something to be researched carefully, organized thoughtfully, preserved responsibly, and presented in ways that bring important people, places, and moments into clearer focus.

Craig’s entrepreneurial path began early. He started his first business at 14, launched another at 19, purchased his first company at 22, and later served in senior executive roles at IBM. Along the way, he developed broad experience in leadership, innovation, operations, business development, artificial intelligence, and the creation of scalable, durable offerings.

He also brings firsthand railroad experience. Early hands-on track maintenance work and operational support in a family-owned railroad construction business gave him a practical understanding of railroad infrastructure and the working environment behind the industry. That exposure later grew into a lasting interest in railroad history, research, preservation, and interpretation.

Today, this blend of business experience, railroad knowledge, and information discipline informs Railroad History Reimagined, Craig’s research-driven initiative devoted to making the past more visible, meaningful, and accessible to more people. He also volunteers with railroad museums and historical organizations and mentors business owners through university, government, and veterans programs.

Originally from Baltimore, Craig now lives near both Baltimore and Washington, DC. When he is not working on historical projects, mentoring, or volunteering, he enjoys music, golf, and time at the grill.

Celebrating 200 Years Of American Rail

In 2027, the American railroad will turn 200 years old, having been chartered on February 28, 1827. As the railroad was built, it carried new ideas, technology, culture, and more, rapidly transforming a young America. Now almost 200 years later, we can trace so much of the American identity back to the railroad and the many people who worked tirelessly to keep it running. The spirit of the railroad is deeply ingrained in the soul of our country, connecting us all forever.

The B&O Railroad Museum

Located in Baltimore, it is known as the birthplace of American railroading, and for good reason. It was here where the first stone of the railroad was laid, where the nation’s first mile of commercial railroad was constructed, and where the Mount Clare Shops made innumerable contributions to the development of the rail industry.  The E. Francis Baldwin designed roundhouse is a must see.
